A guide to branding for musicians.

A common problem most musicians run into is often getting your band’s name out into the world. Getting recognized by your sound alone is a feat many musicians fall flat on. Others who find success sometimes lack struggle with representing their identity and brand early on. SoundAdvice aims to solve those problems, by educating musicians on properly forming a brand and identity for their art.

Challenge: Utilize my skills as a graphic designer to communicate graphic design principles to musicians seeking to develop their own personal brand and identity

Solution: SoundAdvice is a company that is dedicated to educating musicians who may struggle with their own brand management. The SoundAdvice campaign took the form of touring seminars, a website for the SoundAdvice campaign, and tour posters and promotional stickers featuring the SoundAdvice equalizer bar mark.

Why: For almost ten years I have been very involved in my local music scene, so this project was meaningful to me in a very personal way. I was drawn to the idea of combining music and graphic design because I have seen many talented bands suffer from poor graphic elements, thus harming their overall appearance and identity. This was a great opportunity for me to contribute to something I care about.
